Create Subscriptions

Overview

Subscriptions connect members to recurring products (and sometimes one-off fees). Once a subscription is created, Members.dev can automatically generate invoices based on the product's billing rules.

Create a subscription for a member

At a high level:

• Select the member
• Choose the product (plan/tier)
• Confirm the start date / billing cadence (if configurable)
• Create the subscription

Confirm billing and invoices

After creating a subscription, verify:

• The invoice was generated (if your billing rules generate one immediately)
• The amount matches the product price
• The status is what you expect (e.g. open/paid)

Common patterns

• Joining fees: if you charge a setup/joining fee, decide whether it's a separate one-off product or bundled into the first invoice.
• Trials: if you offer a trial period, confirm the invoice timing aligns with your policy.
